Nairn is a seaside town beside the Moray Firth in the north of Scotland, home to the Nairn Branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A). We meet regularly for a talk from a guest speaker, and a chat afterwards. There are also several small study groups which pursue various subjects. The Nairn group is very friendly - we welcome new members at any of our meetings.

Wednesday meetings

The group meets every other Wednesday for a talk by a guest speaker, or a member participation event. Please click the link on the left to find the date and subject of the next meeting on our programme. Afterwards, there will be tea and biscuits, and an opportunity for a wee blether. New members are welcome at any meeting.

NOTE: David Hetherington's talk on the wildcat has moved from 7th March to 2nd May.

Meetings are held at Nairn Community Centre. Please arrive at 1:45pm for a 2pm start. There will be a charge of £1.50 towards room hire and refreshments.

Interest groups

Our interest groups meet once a month at the Community Centre or the group leader's home at 2pm. Please click the link to the left for the date of the next meeting.

History A topic of local or general interest.

Music Enjoy listening to a selection of pieces of various styles.

Opera A different opera on DVD each month.

Reading A lively and informal discussion group.

Scrabble Fun and relaxed - beginners to experts.
